At WUWER, we bring innovation to storage solutions with our advanced high-bay warehouse system, featuring stacker crane and wireless shuttles. Engineered for precision and flexibility, it serves as the perfect inter-operational buffer to enhance your workflow and efficiency.
In modern wood-based panel production, the main limitation is often not machine performance, but the need for proper material conditioning. Between two key manufacturing stages, panels must undergo a controlled seasoning period to stabilize their physical and mechanical properties.
Machines before and after the seasoning process are designed for maximum throughput, while the material itself simply needs time. As a result, production speed and process requirements are no longer aligned.
Traditional storage areas are rarely sufficient — especially in plants where available expansion space is limited.
To address this challenge, we introduced a high-bay warehouse. Immediately after the first processing stage, packages of wood-based panels are automatically transferred to the warehouse. There, they remain stored under controlled conditions for the required seasoning time. Once the stabilization period is completed, the system automatically retrieves the material and delivers it to the next production stage exactly when needed.
By introducing vertical storage and automated process buffering, the production flow becomes fully balanced:
In practice, the high-bay warehouse is no longer just storage infrastructure.
It becomes a key production asset — ensuring process stability and enabling optimal utilization of the machines.
In our recent installation the system structure is designed as presented below:
The automatic shuttle is a pivotal component of our system, enabling efficient material transfer for longitudinal and deep storage.
